Soft Skin Secret
My grandma revealed her soft skin secret to me years ago, and it was this: apply a body oil to the skin right after a shower, before drying off. Towel dry as usual, and your warm skin will soak in all of the hydration and leave behind the most gorgeous sheen.
With warmer weather on the horizon, limbs and legs are swapping to shorter, skin-baring lengths. Body oils are my favorite way to hydrate my skin, especially this time of year. Anyone else lack the patience to let lotion [air] dry, lest you end up feeling stuck to your clothes? The worst.
Here are some of my personal favorite body oils, tried and true.
DRUGSTORE
SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Baby Oil Rub is a super rich, earthy scented oil made for babies' delicate skin, but it gives a goddess glow [to mamas too!]. | Honest Co. Organic Body Oil is mild, lightweight, organic, and the pump makes it super easy to apply. The scent is almost undetectable, which is perfect for those of us who are sensitive to smells, or don't want a body product competing with our favorite perfume. | Weleda makes this little sample pack of various scents like rose and lavender, making them perfect to pop in a travel or gym bag, purse, and even as an emergency backup for the car.
LUXURY
Bobbi Brown's Beach oil is synonymous with summer; it smells like a warm day of sun and sand, and a little goes a long way. | Tom Ford Neroli Portofino body oil is a little taste of Italy in a stunning bottle. It smells super fresh, not too feminine, and perfectly citrusy. Wear a little on the backs of the knees and behind the ears as a light summer fragrance too! | Jo Maloneā¢ 'Velvet Rose & Oud' Dry Body Oil is an exquisite combination of rose and sensual oud, a revered scent historically worn by royalty in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Dry oils sink into the skin super fast, and as implied, leaves the skin dry almost upon contact.
